James Quillfeather. You are a third year. Do not shame Hufflepuff any further with your pitifully researched essays. Thestrals are invisible. They are not 'blue' even when visible. Oh yes, and I saw you walk out on the grounds instead of coming to class on the day of the demonstration. So don't tell me you were in the hospital wing. I've spoken to Madame Pomphrey already.

In other news, the greenhouse looks quite extravangantly decorated for the upcoming holiday. Students are very chittery too. Such a silly holiday.

I was going to have an extra class, but unofrtunately the turnout of students was low, so it's cancelled. From what I hear, there's quite a few parties and things going on so I'll simply wait until normal classes are resumed.

I'll be leaving briefly to visit a few friends over the holiday. Hagrid, could you make sure my animals are fed. I would be most appreciative.

It seems a majority of you are staying at Hogwart's during the holiday break. I would like to take this time to notify any of you that have had unsatisfactory grades in my class (or any of you have just been sorted into my class) that I will be giving an extra lesson on Thestrals at some point this week.

All of you that take my class can celebrate. Tomorrow is the first day students are admitted to leave for Christmas break if they'd like so I will not be having classes until students are called back into regular attendance. I would hate to waste a vauable lesson when some students aren't present.
